Very nice distro.  Everything works perfectly. I'm now running XFce4 and the unit is really fast now.  My computer kept going into swap when I was running Fedora Core 3.I installed Ubuntu 5.04 on my Plll 500, it's okay, but, it doesn't recognize my legacy sound card.  So I ordered Mandriva Ltd. Edition 2005 for the Plll 500. Everything works well. The only beef I have with Fedora is it is a bit of a RAM hog; I had to pare down the services, programs running on start-up, to make it run properly. It runs smoothly on my Dell Optiplex 500 MHz, 192 MB RAM, 10 GB HD, 10/100.  The Gnome GUI is very intuitive, and easy to use.  The Gnome interface is not a resource hog so my Dell is snappy.  Also, getting on-line was simple.  Red Hat identified most of my hardware, found my video card, monitor, and NIC easily. I'm going to dual boot my Dell with RH 8.0 and Win 98 SE.  Be afraid.....be very afraid.  This is probably going to wreck my Dell, but, I want to learn this stuff.  I can re-install if I have to. This may be blasphemy to some Linux diehards.  Windows has a place in the computing world.  However, although Windows is the most popular OS I don't think it is the best one out there.  For stability, security, I have to say that Linux, Unix, OS 10.2 are the best operating systems.
