Activated my demo account at the RHN today. I'm going to buy a subscription to the RHN in September. I think it is important that Linux users support open source development. I think it is a sounder investment than spending huge gobs of cash on bloated, poorly written windows software. Long live the penguin!

Linux rules! I'm a step closer to saying good bye to the boys of Redmond forever. Just updated my kernel today at the Red Hat Network. Viruses?
I don't worry about no stinking viruses! Okay, so the grammar of my last sentence was questionable.
Winblowze yer days are numbered!

Now I guess I need to learn all the ins and outs of this cool OS. I'm going to buy the Red Hat Linux9 Bible; that book should bring me up to speed. Anyone have any other recommendations for a good RH book? Thank you.

I'm pleasantly surprised by the quality of Redhat 9. It runs smoothly on my Dell Optiplex 500 MHz, 192 MB RAM, 10 GB HD, 10/100. The Gnome GUI is very intuitive, and easy to use. The Gnome interface is not a resource hog so my Dell is snappy. Also, getting on-line was simple. Red Hat identified most of my hardware, found my video card, monitor, and NIC easily. It didn't find my sound card. I'll have to search for drivers for it or try to manually configure it.
Red Hat is very easy to install. The only problem I had was that the install CD ROM wouldn't boot from the CD ROM drive. I wasn't able to configure the boot order of devices in the BIOS. So I started up the MS DOS prompt and copied rawrite from the Linux install CD ROM to a floppy disk. I was then able to boot from the floppy drive and install Linux. Linux is ready for the masses. The only thing Red Hat needs to do is create more drivers for hardware. My First distro Caldera OpenLinux 2.3 can not compare to RH.
LINUX RULES!

Ha-Ha-Ha-Ha-Ha, I'm going to spend less cash on Norton AV products.
This is a good day. The open source movement is the next wave.

Success!
Just installed Red hat 9. I think this is the best distro yet! I'm closer to totally kicking the winbloze habit.
Linux rules!
